devotional - day 18

Jeremiah 16:14, 21  the time is coming….now I will show them my power; …at last they will know and understand that I am the Lord

Power. God’s power. It’s so easy to think of God’s power as a superhero’s power. All obvious and grandiose and instantaneous. Sometimes it is. Most of the time it seems to be more of a subtle seed of power that grows stronger little by little.  The kind word. The sweet gesture. The silent comfort of a friend simply being there with you. The surprising lyrics of a song. The scripture verse that suddenly hits different.

God showing up in all the coincidental ways that only he can. 

So today - look out for God’s power in the subtle ways he works and trust he will weave it all together for goodness sake.
