2 Samuel 23:4 …like the light of a morning sunrise
Ah. Sunrise.
Sometimes it is welcome and sometimes it is not.
Sometimes it arrives too early and wakes the birds up and the light and their warbling are an unwelcome alarm. You want both to go away, so that you can sleep awhile longer.
Other times, sunrise is long overdue. The darkness of night has been so dreadfully long. The minutes have gone by at sloth speed and you thought morning would never come. You just felt that once the sun rose, that somehow the agony of night would feel less painful. That somehow the light would make everything feel less scary or worrisome.
Then there are those momentous morning sunrises that are right on time and so incredibly welcome for their light indicates a new day! A new day of possibilities and opportunities. A new day to feel God’s love and pass it along. A new day to see what God might do! A new day to hope, to sing, to laugh in.
Whichever type of sunrise greets you today, may the light of a new day bring hope that God is in your corner and he’s got this!
